About Us
We are a small, outdoor, neighborhood preschool located in the West Adams community of Los Angeles, proudly serving families since 2019.
Seedlings was founded by educator and teacher KuiHwa Seok, who brings over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. KuiHwa holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked as a lead teacher at a private preschool in Venice Beach since 2001, where she developed a deep understanding of child-centered, play-based learning.
In addition to her classroom experience, KuiHwa trained and worked with young children with social learning differences at Social Foundations LA. This work gave her valuable insight into children’s natural development and reinforced her belief in the critical role of play in early learning.
KuiHwa is passionate about creating high-quality, intentional, and creative learning environments that challenge, inspire, and nurture young children. She is excited to bring her experience, care, and thoughtful approach to her own program and community.
Preschool Program (for ages 2 1/2 - 5 years)
Our children move through different activities throughout the day in our wonderful outdoor environment. We provide a balance of structured and unstructured play, ranging from arts, music, movement, and pretend play to math, science, and literature.
Our program has a maximum of 12 children and maintains a teacher-child ratio of 1:6 or less.
We are a year-round program. We are closed for national and seasonal holidays.
We are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offer full- and part-time schedules.
Snacks are provided in both the morning and the afternoon. Children bring their own lunch from home. Our snack includes multi-grain crackers, fruit, and vegetables.
